Training
is an integral part of the Crackerjacks. Safety is the most important aspect of the training
we provide. We are actively involved with the PGI Display Operator Certification course. To allow our
members to fire 1.3g (Class B) material they must complete the PGI training at an approved PGI
class and must actively shoot 5 displays under supervision, until they can become certified.
The Crackerjacks offers the course twice a year
at various locations in the mid-Atlantic
states.
Not only do we train shooters, but we also teach other technicians to become trainers. The
Crackerjack's has at least 12 members that are PGI Certified Trainers.
In addition to operator training we have at least 3 seminars at every shoot. These seminars
cover everything from electrical firing and choreography to the latest fireworks
manufacturing techniques. There are always refresher classes on the classical fireworks
design. Other seminars have included plastic shell design, end burning drivers, Clark's
giant steel fountain, and a front seminar with product made entirely by club members. All
seminars are taught by leading industry experts from both CrackerJacks members and experts
from abroad.
