Safety is the Crackerjacks’ primary concern. All members are required to know
and understand the safety rules, and all club activities are closely monitored
to ensure that our members can safely enjoy themselves during club events.
The club’s primary shoot site is a spacious 50 acres. This allows members to
engage in several activities simultaneously, as each activity is cordoned off in
its own area. Each area is assigned at least one safety officer who ensures all
safety rules are observed by its participants. The club offers safety training
to its members on a wide range of subjects, including storage, handling and
transportation, display set-up and operation, and even manufacturing. In
conjunction with the Pyrotechnics Guild International, the club regularly
sponsors PGI Shooter Certification Classes; this class is required for all
members who wish to work with display fireworks. Some members have also gone on
to become PGI Certified Trainers. The safety rules are designed to promote the
development of knowledge and skill in the use of fireworks while ensuring the
safety of our members and their guests. This requires everyone to conduct
themselves responsibly and to comply with all safety officer directives. If
you’re considering joining the club, please familiarize yourself with our
safety rules .
