The Crackerjacks is a social club. It primarily exists to allow people that like fireworks to share ideas and experiences. Club members vary from professional fireworks manufacturers and shooters; to serious hobbyists who study every facets of pyrotechnics; to more "ordinary" people such as doctors, plumbers, factory workers, etc. who enjoy shooting fireworks in a safe and legal manner. If you are under 18 years old or someone looking to make "M-80s" or any other illegal fireworks, you are definitely in the wrong place.

As a social club, every member is expected to act responsible and be considerate of other members. Your membership does not buy you any rights and you should expect nothing more than being part of a friendly and honest group.

The CrackerJacks is a volunteer organization. As a member, you will be expected take on some of the workload that makes the organization grow and events happen. At the very least, you will need to spend an hour volunteering at every shoot that you attend. There are a variety of tasks that need to be done and you are welcome to choose how you spend this time. In addition, you will be expected to perform clean-up duty on the day after shoots at least once per year.

Most of our members and club activities are located in the Mid-Atlantic area which covers Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. Club shoots are normally held in the northern Virginia area.

Membership privileges:

3 member shoots per year with onsite vending, class B & C fireworks open shooting, and professional displays 1-3 additional meetings a year with swaps, general get-togethers, and great food
Club newsletter covering fireworks manufacture and shooting, product reviews, and club activities which is published every two months.
Seminars on fireworks manufacture and shooting, workshops, demonstrations, club outings, safety training, and Class B certification.

To be eligible to join, you must be 18 years of age and be interviewed and approved by two members of the Crackerjacks membership committee.

Your membership includes your family. Family is defined as parents, spouse, significant other, son or daughter under 18, and legal variations of the above.

To join, you will have to pay the initiation fee and your first year’s dues. The initiation fee is $125.00 per member. The first year’s dues are $75.00. For those joining between August 1st and December 31st, the dues are $50.00 for the remainder of the year.

Shoot fees are currently $50.00 per shoot, or $100.00 for the entire year's shoots for 4 days). This fee includes insurance (for accidents to non-members only), afterglow (the evening meal served around 11PM, and the clean-up fee). This fee covers your and your immediate family. You are permitted to bring guests. You will be responsible for their behavior while attending the event. The guest fee is $60.00 per person (in advance) for Friday And Saturday, with a $15.00 credit given to guests who are able to join the club. Guest MUST be brought by a member. Guests may only attend two shoots after which they must either become a member or no longer attend club shoots. No un-solicited guests are allowed on the property during Club Shoots.

After we have received your membership application, check, and a photocopy of your driver’s license, two members of our membership committee will interview you via phone. The President of the club will then inform you of your acceptance.
